Step by Step changing your iPod Mini`s Battery

 

Step 1

Buy your iPod Mini Battery by www.ebay.com It will cost for you around 10-12 US Dollar with shipping. To find an iPod Mini Battery by eBay type in search “iPod Mini Battery”. Usually you can select over 100 offers. Make sure that they are offering the Battery with a Screwdriver and a small slot. You need both tools to change the Lithium battery for your iPod Mini.



 

Step 2

Take the lower plastic screen off (A) very carefully with the screwdriver. If the plastic cover is hard to remove heat it up with a hairdryer. When it is warm you will take off the plastic cover easily.



 

Step3

It is somewhat tricky to take the clip (B) out on the iPod Mini`s lower surface- Push the screwdriver between the aluminum cover and the clam jaws (B). Very carefully take the clam jaws (B) off. Note: Don`t slip the screwdriver otherwise you will possibly damage the plate.



 

Step4

Take off the upper plastic cover in a similar way like before –Step 3-. If it is hard to open this cover, warm it up with a hairdryers. Note: Never point the hairdryers direct to the display because you could damage it.



 

Step5

Remove two screws (D) and take off the plate holder (E).  



 

Step6

At the bottom left in the corner there is a flat cable. It connects the Click Wheel with the board. Loosen the connection (F) very carefully with a flat screwdriver. Note: The flat cable may not be broken, since it breaks easily.



 

Step7

Now you can pull out the board upward from aluminum cover. If the board should be stuck, push it in and pull it out again.



 

Step8

You can remove the old iPod Mini`s lithium battery from aluminum cover without any problem. Then unplug the connection (G) between iPod Mini`s lithium battery and board.



 

Step 9

Now you plug in the cable (G from step 8) from your new iPod Mini battery into the socket of the board and place it into the aluminum cover. Then put all together in reverse order (Steps 6 to 1).



 

After that you will be able to enjoy your iPod Mini again for a long time.
