I am the Founder of Article Inspector
In my last article about Windows 7, I talked about the performance in Windows 7 and discussed if Microsoft has done what they have promised in last 2 years after Windows Vista was a disaster in performance and compatibility. In part II of my article, I would like to let you know more about installation, desktop, info field, and the new look of WordPad, Paint and Calculator in Windows 7.

The installation of Windows 7 takes almost the same time as Windows Vista does. Microsoft promised that you can decide if you want to install for example “Media Center” during Windows 7 installation but it is not true, at least not with Windows 7 M3 Build 6936 that I worked with. The installation with DVD is little smoother than by Windows Vista. In my test I was able to use Windows 7 after 18 minutes which it took 23 minutes by Windows Vista.
Desktop in Windows 7 has some new improvements compared to Windows Vista. The old and known small Sidebar in Windows, to save more space for desktop, is over Windows 7. The Gadgets will be accessible from desktop in Windows 7.
The new Super-Bar is much easier to use than ever. The most important reason why Microsoft created bigger sidebar is the new feature in Windows 7 that you are able to navigate with your fingers just by touching the desktop. Bigger icons and sidebar can reduce the error during using fingers on desktop.
If you want to have the icons from third party you just drag and drop the icon into the super sidebar. This new feature makes sure that you have a clean desktop.
Support of Multi Monitor Systems
Notebooks are getting more popular and especially the use of multi monitors systems. Using more than one monitor under Windows Vista creates many problems that the system´s act and reaction is not transparent.
In Windows 7, Microsoft has modernized finally the use of multi monitors systems. In my test, I was able to use my multi monitor system without any problem. If you want to use your beamer then you just have to use the short cuts combination + P to switch between monitor and beamer.
Microsoft devoted to the old known free application from Windows in Microsoft OS 7 such as Paint, WordPad and Calculator. Paint and WordPad received the new look from Microsoft Office 2007 with the well known and easy to use Ribbon-Surface. You are able to do more than ever before such as creating texts with different fonts and colors which were not able with the older versions of WordPad.
The new Calculator looks much better and also offers more interesting additional features. You can calculate distances and convert units.
