Microsoft Windows supports blu-ray

Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 will receive almost the last features from Microsoft. All above mentioned Windows will support some new features in the memory and storage technology.

 

Microsoft labels this packet as “Windows Feature Pack for Storage 1.0”. It this update package Microsoft delivers a new feature called “Active Storage Platform”. The main idea is to make more security for memory-sticks through IEEE 1667-Standards.

 

Other new improvement for Windows XP and Vista is the ability to burn the Blu-Ray-Media. Microsoft will release its own Blu-Ray-Burn software with this update-packet.

 

Above all Windows will support the Smart Card Drivers and ICCD/CCID in the future and. This feature packet will allow Microsoft for launching new functions without any Service Pack.

 

Microsoft has not announced when this new features will be released. But Microsoft has promised to support all new media with Windows Vista, which should be the standards for Multimedia files. Because Blu-Ray is the winner against HD DVD, Microsoft must keep its promises.
