Windows Server 2008
Microsoft is working on Vista-Successor and parallel to that on the next generation of Windows Server Operation System. I have noted from many sources in internet that the next Windows 7 Server will be called Windows Server 2008 R2. Still Microsoft has not published any public information about this information.
Microsoft is working hard on promise of delivering a new mirror of Windows Server every single year. In May 2008 Microsoft published a roadmap of Windows Server releases in the coming years. According to Microsoft, Windows Server 2008 is the last release of x86 (32 bit) edition of Windows operation system. That means Microsoft will release Windows Server 2008 R2 only in x64 (64 bit) edition.
According to Microsoft sources about Windows Server 2008 R2, this version of windows Server will have more PowerShell cmdlets built in Windows Server applications. That means more security and performance for Windows Server 2008 R2.
After all I believe it sounds little like alien action movies. According to Microsoft published roadmap of Windows Server editions in the future that Windows Server 2008 R2 will be released only in x64 version, it doesn´t sound being right because it is not possible to adopt a x64 edition if you are running a Windows Server 2008 x86 (32bit) on your server. The only way is to format your server and install the brand new version of Windows Server 2008 with 64 Extension. I do not believe that every company will be ready for doing that because you can lose everything you have on your server.
In my opinion the only important feature for the next generation of Windows for clients and servers is the integration of web-services into the operation system.
Integration of the web-services into the Windows applications is the main developing-project for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, which will be released in 2010. The competition in online-marketing is difficult because Google is dominating the online-marketing over 70.77 percent.
Microsoft has after many years recognized that the online marketing is very important for the future of the existence of Microsoft as the largest software company in the world. Because of that we will face many new online applications in the coming Windows Operation systems such as Windows with the codename “Window 7”. The future will give us the answers.
