According to Microsoft, the PC-Industries have started the biggest change in the computer history. The computer manufacturers have sold more machines with Windows Vista x64 version.

Chris Flores from the Windows client communications team announced at the official Microsoft Windows Vista team blog, Microsoft has sold more Windows Vista 64-bit in the U.S. in last three months. Worldwide, a doubling is reported.

Since March the number of new PCs with Windows Vista x64 has increased from 3 to 20 percent. This showed the statistics of Windows Update. Microsoft is selling more Vista 64-bit than 32-bit edition. He believes that this trend is in coming period.

The advantage of the 64-bit version is the possibility of more memory and higher performance. A further increase in performance to be expected if you have all supported x64 bit drivers, software and hardware.

Microsoft expects now that Windows Vista x64 system will be everywhere in the selves for every single Windows user.

Microsoft advice purchasing of prefabricated 64-bit systems because of x64 drivers. It is very important to pay heed to the Vista-Logo to ensure that all products, hardware, software and drivers support Windows Vista x64.

Microsoft has developed a tool to find out if your PC is compatible to Windows Vista x64. You can find it in Windows Vista Compatibility Center.
