The 3D modeling software "trueSpace" is available for free. It was $600 USD in the past but everyone can download it for free by Microsoft. TrueSpace is a tool for creating 3D models of any objects just like SketchUp from Google.
TrueSpace is professional animation software to create complex 3D models. So you can create high-resolution models, even with a walk through animation and interior decoration equipments.
Since the takeover by Microsoft, the manufacturer trueSpace is available for free. The background idea is the integration of a Virtual Earth function into trueSpace. This feature allows you to add your 3D models directly into the map service.
