Microsoft adopted the Dock Feature in Mac OS

Yesterday, Microsoft has presented Vista´s successor -Windows "7"- officially to the public. During the All Things Digital D6 conference in California Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer showed a little bit of the new system. This was especially the new multi-touch functionality in the center.

It seems that Windows "7" brings further innovation. Microsoft has decided adapting some features from Mac OS to make his next operation system Windows 7 more attractive with multi-touch and dock functionality from Apple house.

In the video which released by Microsoft, the multi-touch feature is not visible by Windows 7. It is also unclear how exactly the dock feature should look like. It is still not clear how similar are Windows Dock and Mac OS Dock features. But one is 100% known that Microsoft started to attract it´s next generation of operation system –Windows 7-.

Apple has developed the Dock feature with Mac OS in 2001. The Dock feature is much older that we think because Apple boss Steve Jobs had already developed dock feature in the eighties with NeXTSTEP operating system.

You maybe ask what the Dock feature is. I am showing you with a Flash file how it is works. If you go with your mouse over the icons then they move and change their size. Here is a flash file showing you how the Dock Feature in Mac OS works.
