Microsoft has had many security problems for the beginning when Windows was developed as an operation system. Microsoft Windows is the most used operation system in the world and there are millions of hackers who would be proud to hack Windows XP 32-bit or Vista 32-bit because most of computer users are using Microsoft PCs. Sometimes people say that Apple computers are more secure than Windows PCs. Maybe they are right but the reason is that only %5 of computer users are using Mac as a personal computer and hackers are not interested to find the security issues with Apple computers.
Microsoft has decided for an important feature in his Windows Vista 64-bit to make it more secure than ever. Decision was for the Digital Signature in drivers and software. It means, Windows Vista 64-bit requires a digital signature, if a software or driver wants to use the Core-Code of Windows Vista.
Windows Vista 64-bit users won´t be asked anymore if a driver can be installed or not. If your driver has the certificate and digital signature from Microsoft then it will be installed without any problem. If the driver does not have the digital signature from Microsoft, then it cannot be installed anyway and you won´t be asked about if you should install it or not. The developers of software, drivers and hardware industries have to register by Microsoft to get that digital certificate. After Microsoft approved their product they will be able to integrate the digital code into their software and drivers. Than every Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit user can install their software without any issues.
That process for getting the digital signature by Microsoft is called "Publisher Identify Certificate (PIC)” or "Class 3 Commercial Software Publisher Certificate". It costs nothing for the software Class 3 developers. If the developers want to use their software for industrial productions like HP, Dell, Intel, Symantec, and etc. then they have to pay $500 for registration. Don´t be worried because we are the Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit users and we do not have to pay for anything.
But not everyone is happy with that security decision by Microsoft. There are free developers who are working on open platforms software and they cannot produce their products anymore because their open source products won´t run under Vista 64-bit. They say that Microsoft is going to block inventions in the open platform software industry. That is usually what a monopolist would do.
After all Windows Vista 64-bit brings more security for your computer, because Vista 64-bit allows only the software with digital permission from Microsoft to access the core code of your Windows Vista x64. Any other virus and hacking software can make problems in your Windows Vista 64-bit when you are surfing in internet, because nothing can be installed on your computer without the permission. It works fine and automatically and you do not have to be worried about anything. Just start your Vista 64-bit and enjoy your time at the computer.
Actually you can change your Windows Vista 64-bit settings to be asked if a driver or software can be installed or not during your installation. I recommend to do not do that because it is very important to use only software and drivers with digital certificated signatures from Microsoft. That is the only way to make your computer safer than ever before.
