Etsy Shop

In the first installment of this article, we discussed a few ideas to help improve or get your etsy shop rolling in the right direction.  This continuation of that article will highlight a few general concepts or tips that while easily applied directly to etsy, can be applied to any internet-selling platform and may be useful to employ outside of the internet world.

With literally thousands of internet sales under my belt, I’ve come to see recurring themes arise at various times throughout the years.  As sellers, we have to act accordingly when things don’t necessarily go the way we would like. These tips should serve the newbie seller along the way, but may also help serve the seasoned seller equally well.

Etsy Shop

There are plenty of sources to encourage you to open a shop on etsy, this isn’t one of them.  I’m often taken aback by the number of people that have opened an etsy shop but fail to make any sales or never get around to offering much product.  I’ve been selling online for so many years that the concerns, fears and frustration of would be sellers often baffles me.  While there are seminars, workshops and outside avenues that are more than willing to offer pointers for making the most out of your online shop, often a few very basic options are right in front and go unused or overlooked.  I myself was recently invited to attend a two-day workshop that promised to instruct me in the finer points of selling on etsy.  While I’d venture to guess that such workshops would have something of value to say, the sheer cost of attending such an even is staggering.  This latest invitation would only set me back a mere $800 a day.  What a steal.  If you’re at all like me, those numbers simply don’t add up to make much sense and thus I’ve decided to share a few basic tips to help the aspiring or frustrated etsy seller improve their experience and hopefully fatten their pockets a bit.

Roger Clemens: The Rocket a Scapegoat? Part II

Roger Clemens: The Rocket a Scapegoat?

The first installment of this article served as a refresher to get readers up to speed with the events surrounding the steroid era in professional baseball and the events leading up to the most recent attempt of trying Roger Clemens for perjury.

Roger Clemens isn’t on trial for cheating, he’s on trial for lying to investigators and it doesn’t appear he has much sympathy in his corner.  But I can’t help wonder, why Clemens?  Sure, the pitcher is mentioned over 80 times in the Mitchell Report, but there were others mentioned more often.  Perhaps prosecutors feel they’ve got a stronger case against Clemens than the others, but part of his legal defense teams strategy seems to be proving there was no ‘bump’ in the pitchers performance from year to year.  However, that seems irrelevant seeing that a number of implemented and confessed steroid users weren’t players of Roger’s caliber.  It’s simply impossible to quantify the effects of performance enhancing drugs on a person’s performance.  With implemented steroid users that had already displayed themselves as power hitters, it seems a bit easier to perceive a difference as many pitches hit the other way or off the end of the bat found their way into the stands as opposed to opponents’ gloves.  But what serves as damning evidence to fans isn’t much in the way of real evidence in the courtroom.  And with pitchers, it seems especially difficult to arrive at such conclusions.

Roger Clemens: The Rocket a Scapegoat? Part I

Roger Clemens

Roger Clemens is back in court to face charges of perjury.  If you will recall, the first attempt at throwing the book at Clemens was declared a mistrial and the case subject to another attempt, so here we go again.  As an avid fan of baseball, I’m not sure how I should feel about the case or if I should even be following it at all.  Nevertheless, Roger Clemens is a man that’s easy to dislike.  Moreover, it's hard to look the other way when people like Roger get what's coming to them.
